Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University was founded in 1946 on the premise that “Borders frequented by trade and diplomacy seldom need soldiers.” This aspirational maxim was particularly powerful, because our institution was established by Thunderbird Air Force Pilots returning from World War II. Over the years, this imperative was reframed as Thunderbird being synonymous with “Borderless.”
